The Method
The Junior Chess instruction method involves a series of level cards
developed over the past 12 years by USCF (United States Chess Federation)
chess expert, Jim Mundy.
At the first class, we determine each child’s level and issue them their
individual cards. Each card has three tasks on it that must be achieved
before progressing to the next level.
Each class, students will have an
opportunity to test for a task or tasks. When all three tasks have been
mastered, the student moves to the next level and gets a new level card.
This system is similar to the colored belts system used in martial arts.
